I See Dressed People

Make sure you read the title the same way the little boy from THE SIXTH SENSE spoke of him seeing...ummmm...those that are no longer with us.

I’m having one of those moments where I see photos, of different pieces, that can be merged together to create a completed look.

Like this messy braid…

The makeup and earrings…

This VALENTINO short set…

This over-sized pearl bracelet...

This knuckle clutch and nails…

And these heels...

Heather D. Grey

The Blackberry camera flash did nothing under a dull indoor light. In fact it added a “heather” look to the photos. But I’m posting these photos anyway because I seldom share “WHAT I WORE” photos and start of the year I said I’d do otherwise.

I was happy the doctor dismissed my arm sling last Tuesday so I could return to wearing whatever it was I had in mind (instead of dressing around that sling!). My niece’s birthday was this past Saturday and I showed up to her birthday dinner in the get-up below. I’m a heather grey addict and it always adds much needed comfort on my end...can’t imagine my life without it ol’ heather!

Problem Solving

At times getting dressed is not just a problem but more like an addition or subtraction problem. Either way summing up some will equal a HAUTE look once complete!

METAL YELLOW

Below are a few of the metal and/or yellow items I’ve been spazzing over lately.

From industrial style accessories, to vintage brass étagères, to flannel, sequin, and pencil skirts...I swoooooon!

May be an entire new line up this time next week…as long as it METAL and/or YELLOW!

#ThrowBackThursday: Leona's Lips

Leona Lewis’s lips were big, redpuffy, and were attached to the front of her top. A little over 2 years ago tons of folks said nay to what one commenter called a monstrosity! But me…being a lover of lip print and bold style gave her two thumbs up. Although the top reminded me of a kid’s show, like Yo Gabba Gabba, I fell for the lips. Glad to see the remaining pieces of the outfit were toned down---neutrals...even her makeup (and the stand out with a pinch of subtle nail color). In this case less was more and I hoped to see more of the singer’s vegan clothing line but it seems it all came to a halt. Shout out to Leona’s glam bam boldness!

RihPost RePost

“I saw a picture of Rihanna in a raggedy blue jean skirt and thought of you…” <---Ish my mama says

I then told her I longed for that exact skirt (ACNE: Resort 2012) last Spring/Summer but the (a little over) $400.00 price tag kept me away from it.

Way too easy of a DIY to invest car note money. The skirt, from what I’ve seen, is sold out but if you happened to get your hands on it (luckkkkkkkky) I’ve reposted a few style samples I created last year…just in case you’re having one of those WHAT TO WEAR moments!

End Up a Pin Up

A few of my loves are neon signs, flamingos, palm trees, lip print (or lipstick print), retro MOTELS…and I guess I’ll stop there. Here lately I’ve stalked all of the above online...over and over again. So when Kentranisha contacted SIDE OF STYLE, wanting to do a shoot (of any theme) for her upcoming 22nd birthday, the timing was PERFECT! I figured I could somehow add a few of my obsessions to the mix. I hoped Kentranisha could bring a romper to life that I pulled for the shoot…and that she did!

*Thanks again for contacting SIDE OF STYLE Kentranisha*
