Painting the Town PINK
With October coming to a QUICK close I figured I’d share all the PINK goodness from www.facebook.com/sideofstyle. My aunt is currently battling breast cancer and I had the opportunity to style her in PINK. Good to know those few hours we shared during her styling session took her mind off her breast cancer battle and upcoming chemotherapy appointments. Thanks again Nakeya and Fallon for assisting with making October 20th a great day for Aunt Margaret! Those with cancer you are ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers. ALWAYS.

Playing Catch Up
Glad I'm over this yucky stomach virus that has been crawling around the Houston area...I almost thought I wasn't going to see yall again. I mean...I don't see yall but you get it right? *BLANKSTARE*
So today I'm playing catch up (catching up on all that fabulousness out there) and Chrisette Michele's promo pic stopped me in my tracks...that look is SIMPLY AMAZING! Her eye-wear reminds me of a photo I came across on Tumblr months ago and I've been holding that photo hostage in my computer for NO REASON (photo after Chrisette's loveliness). Love a lively pair of frames; Go Chrisette!

Throwback Thursday: 2010 Again
"Here they go with this THROWBACK THURSDAY #TBT mess." said Someone on today...I'm sure LOL!
With TBT I'm able to look back on some fun and productive projects that took place with some really cool people. It's a reflection on blessings to say the least.
The concept behind the shoot (photos below) was given to me by the Photographer/Creative Director: one tone, no accessories, and a pair of heels. The red "X" covers the face to symbolize how "THE INDUSTRY" seems to look pass the unknown or younger models and photographers these days. And in some cases that's where a lot of RAW and needed talent resides in my opinion. The teen model and the young photographer's drives were impressive and I'll forever salute them for this concept. Less is more BUT NOT WHEN IT COMES TO COLLABING WITH THE UNKNOWN/YOUTH/YOUNG ADULTS...this is still one my favorite wardrobe styling concepts to date.

I can hear my granny now…”I was in Targets the other day and the m***erf***ers done got too high! I was in there with so-and-so and they had the nerves to have a dress in there for $60.00!!! I ain’t going back…it’ll be WALMART from now on!!!”. But considering the fact that Neiman Marcus and CFDA Designers have linked with Target (More info HERE) for the holidays a $60.00 dress from a top designer isn’t too bad…but of course my little cussing granny will NEVER understand that. For the last couple of weeks youngins’ have contacted SIDE OF STYLE more than anything…requesting personal outfits to looks for SPIRIT WEEK! For Spirit Week, at local high schools, I’ve been pulling and prepping outfits for teenagers who’ve contacted SIDE OF STYLE requesting 1980s/1990s looks for DECADE DAY, NERD DAY, and CELEBRITY DAY. I’m so honored to be apart of their festivities! Below are photos of pieces I delivered and made 16 year olds squeal LOL…and my niece (WHO’S ALWAYS IN MY WAY INSTEAD OF ASSISTING DURING AN OUTFIT PULL AND PREP!) playing dress up for her Instagram flicks. I just had to highlight the young clients (THE FUTURE)…I appreciate the love!
