THE 3RD COAST

It's been some kind of week...but I won't complain! And when I have "some kind of week" I usually crave IHOP pancakes (My excuse to stuff my face full of pancakes drenched in syrup...yes indeed!). This time I decided not to go to my local IHOP, I was in the mood to drive and talk talk talk to my sister, so I hit I-45 and took a 45 minute drive to Galveston, Texas (to visit the IHOP on the island's sea wall). It was refreshing to see a body of water so calm with all I'd seen in recent days on CNN. I wasn't the only one in the mood to see the calm coastline...the beach was packed with families. As I head into what I hope to be a calmer week I will continue to pray for all those affected by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene, peace and blessings to you!

Easy like Sunday morning...

One in a Million

This summer I gave my 10 year old niece an assignment to research one person...take the needed notes and compose a bio. She chose Aaliyah and was amazed that Aaliyah has been gone exactly 10 years. May she rest in peace...

Iris is IT!!!

Love, LOVE, Loooooooooove Mrs. Iris!!!

August 2010

Been "looking back" a lot here recently! Came across these photos, from August 2010, when I was trying on some items I'd recently bought OR happen to find in my closet (My favorite pass time...playing dress up!). My sister was in "photographer" mode...as usual! What were you wearing, buying, trying on a year ago? My...time flies...

N.I.C.E. Look Back

The summer is coming to a QUICK end...wow! My niece started 5th grade on today (butterflies in my tummy) and I just finished wrapping up SIDE OF STYLE'S 3rd quarter stuff (happy headache)! That wrap up consisted of me looking through old work and I came across the photos below, from February of this year, that screamed SUMMER!!! Again I shout out to www.southernewyorker.com for allowing SIDE OF STYLE to be apart of their plan!

Post

And the WINTER is...

I actually think yesterday was the hottest day this Summer in Houston and Fall/Winter is on my mind not only for that reason but recently I've been putting my styling closets/kits in Fall/Winter mode. I'm actually looking forward to those random 5 cold days Houston gets each winter...

Coral, Violet, and Dr. Marvin Sapp

You'd think since I was headed to an event to witness Dr. Marvin Sapp preach/sing I would not have gotten my mean-mug on in the photos I'd taken before heading out...SMH! I sang, I listened, I was inspired, I clapped, I jumped, and hugged my neighbor in the simple coral and violet get up below. If you ever have the opportunity to see Dr. Marvin Sapp while he's in your city PLEASE take full advantage!

ADD DRESS

The ways to wear this Charles Lynch (CharlesFD/Charles Chic) dress are endless. Clearly it’s hot alone but DAY LOOK it with a ripped denim jacket and flat sandals or NIGHT LOOK it with a fitted blazer, sky high heels, and a chunky gold link chain. Endless…

ANIMAL PLAN IT

Oh the things that put me in a trance! If you are ever HUNTING the perfect animal belt do remember:

CHISTOPHER ROSS is BOSS!
