Behind the Seams
I was able to get my hands on the Rachel Roy dress below in 2008 or 2009 and recently, when my client mentioned she wanted a FUN look, I figured it was worth a pull! She chose to wear the dress while filming a segment for a project she’s working on and it complimented her well.
So Ms. Roy...DO KNOW that you are creating a few timeless pieces---with an edge!
Twenty Something
Years ago while viewing old hairstyle photos I’ll never forget these words from my Cosmetology teacher: “Try not to look at these photos with your current eye…try to go back and look at it with an eye from that particular era.”
So when I saw photos of Rihanna the above quote was apart of my thoughts. I thought back to those 1920’s hairstyle photos, viewed RihRih’s ensemble, and thought “She’s doing the ENTIRE 1920’s style thing from bobby pin to pinkie toe!” And her choice of hairstyle has been seen during several runway shows in recent years. But some only thought of the hairstyle as a prep mold that’s done to hair before sleeping or sitting under a hairdryer and with that a thumbs down followed.
But me…I loved it! In spite of the naysayers (of this particular look) RihRih is THAT CHIC! A Wardrobe Stylist’s dream due to the fact that she’s willing to take chances and try new or old things.
This fashion/style thing is far more than daily Instagram photos…some will never understand or see pass that tho---so glad I’m not apart of that “some”!
As I’ve mentioned before I’m a vintage ad junkie…below is a lovely fashion ad from the “ROARING 20s” and another photo of a few stylish young ladies from that era.
(That ROARING 20s font messes with your eyes huh? Or maybe it’s me LOL)
Style by the Mile: DJ Angel Clouthier
I came across the last photo, below, in November 2010---and it still moves me to this date! At that time I read the photo credits and found that the photo was of a young lady by the name of DJ Angel Clouthier.
I’ve been looking for these 2010 photos of her FOREVER and I finally remembered her name (After googling DJ Angel Clothes LoL). Just had to post these photos 3 years later…STILL ON!
DO YOU
You may be a CELEBRITY FASHION STYLIST or an old school Aunty (The kind with that one gold tooth)...I know you think it: “I BE DRESSINNNNG!”
Keep doing you!

Highest Praise
I’m beginning to think that GAP does stand for something I once saw on a t-shirt (see below). I’m thankful that GAP’s look book ministry blessed my eyes this morning! *Hits tambourine*

SWEET SADIE
I can go on all day listing the items I can mix and match with Sophia Webster’s “SADIE” booties. *Sigh*
